Rolling stock by Bert van Rhijn
Introduction (Ted Polet)
The brickworks railway preservation layout (Stichting Behoud Leemspoor or SBL) shown elsewhere in these pages is Bert's exhibition piece, which featured in the modelling press and the 009 News, and has been a regular attendant at exhibitions all over Holland. Bert has been preparing for a new layout for some time. This is set in Wales, showing a small station inspired by the Talyllyn and the Corris, named Gorsaf Bach (“small station”). His railway is called the Dramfford Cwm Eglwys ("Church Valley Tramway").
Bert is a dyed-in-the-wool scratchbuilder who makes his own rolling stock by adapting kits and kit parts, and making whatever other parts he needs himself. His short articles in the 009 News must be well known by now. So we decided to add the material to our website to make it available on the Web, and in colour.
